In
1946, at the age of eighteen, Charlie F. Ware joined Widow’s Son Lodge #78 in
Cincinnati, Ohio thus beginning his Masonic Career. Bro Ware is a
chartered member of Mt. Sinai Chapter #42, Copperas Cove, Texas, Far West
Chapter #482 (Presently Divine Glory Chapter #3) and Knights Templar Commandery
#37.
Bro. Ware acquired his 32nd degree in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1965. Bro Ware was a member of Consistory #306 and became a Noble with Alheza Temple #99 in Anchorage, Alaska, demitting to Nubia Temple #191 in Killeen, Texas.
Throughout Bro Ware’s tenure as a Mason, Serviceman, Christian, he has been recognized greatly for his Masonic works and his Christian dedication. In 1974, he helped organized 19th Street Chapel, under the guidance of Chaplain Ervin Jennings. In 1979, Bro Ware, bro Huggins, Bro Morrison, and Bro Harvey Woods realized a dream when they organized and then came Jno G. Lewis Lodge #622. Under these brothers guidance in the early 80s, Jno G. Lewis purchased and paid for their land.
In 1981, under the guidance of Rev. Velma Hayden, Bro Ware helped organized Ninth Hour A.M.E. Church. Throughout the years, Bro Ware has received numerous award and recognition for his outstanding dedication and services. Among those most notable; in 1989, he received the Certificated of Merit from the Imperial Potentate David Holliman of the Imperial Council; in 1990, Bro Ware was elevated to Special District Deputy of District 14 by Most Worshipful Grand Master Thomas Routt; finally, Bro Ware went on to become the District Deputy Grand Master of District #14, an honor recognized by Most Worshipful Grand Master Edwin B. Cash. Bro Ware is presently District Deputy Grand Master Emeritus, having been appointed to his position December 1994 by Most Worshipful Master Robert E. Conner.
On a more personal side of Bro Ware, he was married to Beverly and was the father of four children. He spent 24 years in the United States Army, retiring in 1972 as Sgt First Class receiving numerous awards and medals.
In all of Bro Ware’s endeavors, he gave his all by being a good father, believing and stressing education, being determined and persistent and dedicated in all aspects of his life.
In memory of Sgt Ware’s service to his country, in 2006 his wife Beverly purchased a STONE with is name etched on it in order to help pay for the Center For Intrepid at Brooks Army hospital in San Antonio, Texas. This facility was paid for by WE THE PEOPL, not the Government. This state of art facility was built for our men and women coming back from Iraq to ensure they get the best rehabilitation care possible.
With the help of the Masonic family and his wife, Bro Ware’s work continues even after death.
