Focus for 2007 – 2008: “Engaging our Youth in Leadership & Decision-Making”
2008 Youth Leadership Conference – Dallas, TX
On behalf of our Grand Master of Texas Prince Hall Masons, The Honorable Wilbert M. Curtis, our Grand Youth Director, Charles DeWitt, State Director (KOP), Michael Simms, Sr., Assistant State Director, Rahsaan Cook, Most Venerable Grand Master Knight, Joedicy Simms, Youth Knights, Sir Knights, Parent Clubs, and the Texas KOP family we welcome you to our website.
The
Texas KOP Youth Leadership Training Program has been in existence since
1999. We currently have over 15 councils around the state
with additional councils starting in other cities as well. Our
focus is to train young men between the ages of nine through twenty in
the areas of Leadership, Responsibility, and
Brotherhood.
In the month of July of every year we host a Youth Leadership
Conference. In 2007 we hosted it
at Prairie View University and in 2006 we were
at Texas Southern University.

In
2007 our focus was: Leadership &
Decision Making.
We had an opportunity to examine how our youth make decisions in
their everyday life. In 2008 we are planning on bringing this training
back but adding a Part II:
Developing the Right Attitude.
We learned in our training in 2007 that our youth were making bad
decisions based on having incorrect attitudes.

Our program and conferences exist
thanks to the volunteer efforts of the Master Masons in Texas, our
youth, parents, businesses, other organizations, and people in the
community. Our funding for this program is through contributions. If you
